What would it take to end child poverty?
In the UK, millions of families are struggling to meet their basic needs. They may be unable to heat their home, pay their rent, buy the essentials for their children. The insecurity and uncertainty will have devastating affects on a person's physical and mental health and wellbeing. The constant stress can be overwhelming. Every child should have the chance to a decent and secure life.
Almost anyone can experience poverty. Unexpected events such as a job loss, illness, relationship breakdown or bereavement are some of the circumstances that can lead to poverty. Others are in a cycle of poverty and causes are too broad to mention. We know that poverty can waste a person's potential, it deprives society and economy of skills and talents.
This is why Project Mums has been set up. We train individuals to manage community projects, we provide opportunities to gain real management experience in delivering projects and offer support to launch a new venture. Our innovative programmes are designed to equip and empower families to a positive future.
